We are delighted to inform you that the IAP Global Training Academy and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Sustainable Cycles (SCYCLE) Programme have developed a joint webinar to increase knowledge and awareness amongst prosecutors of waste crime, its links with other forms of organised criminal activity, the challenges associated with prosecuting such crimes, and also to demonstrate the need to enhance international collaboration to tackle this (non-traditional) form of transnational organised crime.

Speakers and presentation topics:

1. Vittoria Luda di Cortemiglia, UNITAR, SCYCLE Programme

Topic: Introduction to waste crime (definition of waste crime, main typologies, statistics, threat convergence, key international treaties and conventions), the importance of successful investigation and prosecution of waste crime.

    2. Elena D'Angelo, UNITAR, SCYCLE Programme

Topic: Case study - Transboundary movement of e-waste from EU to Southeast Asia, need for enhanced international cooperation.

     3. Shenaz Muzaffer, General Counsel of the IAP
 
There will also be the opportunity for a Q&A session.
 
This one-hour session will be held in English and no interpretation will be provided. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. The webinar is open to IAP individual members and organisational member representatives.
