The Military Prosecutor General of Rome Mr. Marco De Paolis
Marco De Paolis is considered to be one of the most authoritative experts in the field of military crimes investigation in the period of World War II committed in Italy. He was in charge of the investigation into 515 cases of genocide against the Italian civil population and homicide of the Italian military personnel committed on the territory of Italy and outside from September 8, 1943 on.
Furthermore Marco de Paolis initiated inquiries into the most crucial nazi crimes committed against the Italian people during World War II, he himself conducted 17 of the investigations. During his stay in the position of Military Prosecutor of the Military Tribunal in La Sapienza, he conducted a larger number of investigations than any other Italian Prosecution Bodies.
He has conducted a number of investigations throughout his career, in different capacities, which adds up to a total number of 515 cases of genocide against the Italian civil population and homicide of Italian military personnel. In the duration of 10 years from 2003 – 2013, 57 criminals were sentenced to life imprisonment and in the duration of eight years from 2003 – 2011, 78 people were convicted as a result of judicial inquiries conducted by Marco de Paolis.
