14 May 2025, 14:00-14 May 2025, 15:00
Cybercrime Network
Speaker:
Yves Nicolet, Federal Prosecutor responsible for the Cybercrime Unit, Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland
Facilitator:
Irina Beridze, Executive Programme Manager, International Association of Prosecutors
Cybercrime is an increasing global threat. Cyber criminals are quick to identify the potential vulnerabilities of new technologies and exploit them to commit offences, or to try to frustrate detection of their activities. Cybercrime has a significant financial impact on individuals and economies and impacts on the integrity of digital systems. Cybercrimes span jurisdictional borders, meaning that effective international collaboration is vital to tackle the threats that we face.
However, there are challenges faced by investigators and prosecutors in relation to cybercrime, including anonymity, data volatility, technical complexity and transnationality. This webinar will focus on those challenges and potential solutions, and also discuss the difficulties of cross-border e-evidence collection via MLA, identifying some best practices to mitigate those barriers.
This 60-minute webinar will be held in English and no interpretation will be provided. However, attendees can access automated translated captions via the Zoom platform during the webinar. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. The webinar is open to all IAP organisational and individual members.
Please note that this webinar will be recorded.
