In a world where every byte can become evidence, how can prosecutors safeguard justice while upholding freedom of expression and privacy rights?
Join us for an exclusive webinar hosted by the IAP and UNESCO, unveiling new international guidelines for prosecutors on digital evidence collection and usage.
Explore best practices, legal safeguards, and real-world challenges in handling digital data across borders.
Learn how to navigate the complex intersections of technology, human rights, and criminal prosecutions.

The authors, Simon Clements and Sabin Ouellet, will introduce the essential elements of the Guidelines, provide an overview of their content and outline their significance for prosecutors and legal professionals. They will also consider how a balance can be struck between legitimate law enforcement objectives and ensuring adherence to upholding human rights and legal safeguards.

The webinar will also include an introduction to the topic and the guidelines from the IAP and UNESCO.
This 60-minute webinar will be held in English and no interpretation will be provided. However, attendees can access automated translated captions via the Zoom platform during the webinar. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance. The webinar is open to prosecutors, legal professionals, investigative journalists, media representatives, human rights actors, and internet and social media platforms around the world who are specialised in digital evidence collection, cybercrime, freedom of expression or with an interest in learning more about these topics.
